Anyway, due to the DMCA hooplah (Google it), SpigotMC.org can’t/won’t release a downloadable version of this server, so you have to compile it yourself. It’s really not terribly difficult to do, though. I was able to do it just by following the directions on SpigotMC.org. But that’s where the problems began. Because this is such a significant update, it ended up breaking some pretty important plugins, namely WorldGuard and Essentials. SpigotMC.org released an updated version of these and a few other plugins, but there’s still some problems with them. I was specifically having issues with the UUID conversions in WorldGuard, so my region ownership wasn’t working quite right. Also, overall Command Blocks don’t seem to work at all, and Amplified Moosh server uses those a lot.
So, in the end, I had to revert back to v1.7.10, so Amplied Moosh still doesn’t have all the v1.8 goodies in it quite yet. I’ll keep an eye on the SpigotMC.org forums and as soon as all these little glitches are fixed, I’ll recompile and upgrade the server.
