Per the official Mojang post by Vu Bui, there will not be a MineCon 2014. Although that’s a bit of a let-down, it can also be a good thing, because this may just not be something that they feel they can successfully pull off every year. The article did mention that they were shooting for London, England as the location for the next MineCon, with a very general date estimate as “Spring 2015”.
I was selfishly hoping that the next MineCon would be in North America (maybe Canada?), because I wanted to attend in my MooshroomJockey costume again (but not entered in the contest). I thought it would be a fun way to thank everyone for their support after the MineCon 2013, and although I did enjoy being in the contest, I had the most fun when working the crowd right before the contest. Not only do I not think I will be able to make it to England, even if I could I don’t think I could get the MooshroomJockey costume there.
Who knows? We’ll see as everything gets nailed down further and officially announced. You just never know!
