Upgraded to PaperMC v1.21.4 (Finally!)

As anyone who uses PaperMC knows, the developers (who know a lot more than we do) decided to hard fork from SpigotMC, which means that future versions of PaperMC will (likely) be released faster since they’re no longer waiting for SpigotMC to do the update(s) first. However, since v1.21.4 was the hard fork, it took quite a while for PaperMC to release that version. Anyway, that’s just my non-developer explanation for why it took so long to upgrade Amplified Moosh to v1.21.4.

The good news is because PaperMC did take quite a while to release a stable v1.21.4, virtually all the plugins were already updated, so the upgrade went rather smoothly. We also upgraded Geyser (how we allow Amplified Moosh to be cross-platform with both the Java and Bedrock versions of Minecraft) to the latest version, but the Challenges on Amplified Moosh are still not working correctly for Bedrock users, specifically that mobs in the Challenges are still not hostile (which again makes the Challenges rather unchallenging). We did change most of the signs on Amplified Moosh from the regular oak to the new pale oak. This should allow for the signs to be more legible to Bedrock players as quite a few of the lettering colors in Bedrock are unreadable on oaks signs.

Although we don’t actually have much time to do it, we’re trying to add a couple of new servers to the mc.MooshroomJockey.com domain. One of them will be another adventure server similar to Amplified Moosh (except it will be our local town!), and the other is going to be a traditional minigames server. The minigames server is proving challenging to automate, as (again) we’re not developers, so we have to rely on plugins, etc. that are currently available. We will release more information when they’re (at least more) ready!

And finally, we have some awesome new artwork on the server of the OG MooshroomJockey from MineCon 2013! We’ll be adding more images in the future, but for now it’s only inside Steve’s head in the Valley of Giants! Here’s a peek (it’s much more impressive in person):

Good times…good times! Almost a dozen years ago!
